1. TASK FORCE MEETING Finance

The kick-off meeting of the “Taxes and Finance” task force took place under the leadership of our supporting member KPMG. The basic structure of the working group was established. Following this, attendees were able to participate in the workshop “Research Premium – Optimization Options for the Research Premium for Biotech Companies,” led by Michael Petritz (KPMG Tax Partner) and Michael Klewan (KPMG Audit Senior Manager). The experts covered the fundamentals of the Austrian research premium, the specific characteristics of biotech companies and their impact on the assessment base for the research premium, security measures, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the Austrian research premium compared to funding instruments in other countries (e.g., a comparison with the research allowance in Germany).
